Dr. Patrick Moore will lead a demonstration on January 26 in Rome to protest Greenpeace's anti-Golden Rice campaign that perpetuates blindness and death among millions of children.
The demonstration is at Piazza della Rotonda, Rome
As many as 500,000 children are blinded each year due to a lack of vitamin A, half of whom die within a year. Golden Rice, a genetically modified rice containing genes from corn, can cure this affliction that effects mostly children in urban slums in Asia and Africa.
Since the invention of Golden rice by humanitarian scientists in 1999, eight million children have died. Greenpeace and its allies lead the opposition to Golden Rice, which has not yet been approved by any country. They support the violent destruction of scientific field trials of Golden Rice in the Philippines. They trash the scientists who have proven that Golden Rice works to cure this affliction. They are guilty of a crime against humanity.
The Allow Golden Rice Now! Campaign will work to convince Greenpeace to make an exception to their zero-tolerance position on genetic modification, on humanitarian grounds, for Golden Rice.
“Greenpeace began as a humanitarian organization, to save civilization from an all-out nuclear war,” stated Dr. Moore. “Today Greenpeace turns a blind eye to the consequences of their black-and-white approach to genetic science. What has happened to the “peace” in Greenpeace?”
