Assistant professor at the Physics Department of Sapienza University and Junior Fellow at the Scuola Superiore di Studi Avanzati Sapienza.

Fabio Sciarrino, of Italian and French nationality, was born in Naples on 10 May 1978. His research focuses on experimental quantum optics, quantum computation and information, and on the foundations of Quantum Mechanics. His experimental work has led to the development of new techniques in this field and has also contributed to the understanding of the foundations of quantum mechanics and of quantum information theory.

In 2010 he won the HYTEQ project (Hybrid Technologies for Quantum Information Processing) funded by FIRB – Future in Research for young Italian researchers. In 2012 he was awarded an ERC Starting Grant / Consolidator 3D-QUEST (www.3dquest.eu). He is the coordinator of the European Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) PICQUE (Photonic Integrated Compound Quantum Encoding), which started in September 2013 (www.picque.eu). He teaches Quantum Information and Computation at the Physics Department of Sapienza University.
