Camilo José Cela-Conde

Born in Madrid on 17 January 1946. He obtained his degree in Humanities at the University of Barcelona, Spain, in 1975, and his PhD in Philosophy at the same university in 1978. Since 1983 he has been professor of Anthropology at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain, in the Faculty of Philosophy.

Research areas: human evolution, philosophy of biology, systematics, cognitive sciences, aesthetics.

Author of numerous scientific articles and books in the field of human evolution.

He was the first to publish research linking the localisation of neural networks to aesthetic perception.
